You keep telling yourself that once this problem is solved, life will finally calm down.

It won’t.

Problems don’t end.

They only change outfits and come back louder.

You think peace is waiting after the promotion, the relationship, the money, the move.

Life is not a finish line.

Marcus Aurelius was right:

Life looks more than wrestling than dancing.

Because that’s what life is…

A wrestling match where the bell never rings.

The Stoics weren’t pessimists.

They were realists who refused to be shocked every time life behaved like life.

Odysseus expected smooth sailing back to Ithaca,

But he had to wait 10 more years instead.

Every solved problem creates the next one, and then next one, and the next one.

So it was for Odysseus,

Who went from the Trojan War, to the Cyclops Polyphemus, to Sirens, to the witch Circe, to staying 7 long years in Goddess’ Kalypso’s island.

And then what?

And then he returned to Ithaca… only to find out 40+ men were ravaging his home and begging his wife to sleep with them.

Stop waiting for a problem-free life.

It’s not coming.

Choose which problems are worth carrying and drop the rest.

That’s not resignation.

That’s freedom.

To your Stoic success,

Ioannis
